Chandigarh: UT employees will take out a rally under the banner of Joint Action Committee in support of their demands of bonus, payment of DA and arrears under the 7th Pay Commission before Diwali. The employees will gather in Sector 17 on Monday at 12pm and proceed towards UT Secretariat in Sector 9. Committee convener Ashwani Kumar said due to non-fulfilment of their “legitimate demands”, the employees have been protesting repeatedly, but the administration and MC were not addressing their issues. Kumar said besides the above listed demands, they were also seeking DC rate arrears and salaries to outsourced employees, creation of a safe policy, equal pay, and benefits of the 6th pay panel to daily wage employees, besides others. Meanwhile, Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Chandigarh, has also written to the UT administrator, seeking his intervention for the release of arrears under the 7th Pay Commission. TNN
